  All three are the diagonal, because every edit changes one character

  Delete is the diagonal, insert is the cell above, replace is the left

  Delete is the cell above, insert is the cell to the left, replace is the diagonal

  Insert and delete both use the diagonal, while replace takes the larger of the two neighbours
