Free resume builder
Write a resume that gets read by a person.
Most resumes are rejected by software before anyone sees them. This builds yours, scores it the way that software reads it, and tells you exactly what to change. Free, no account, and nothing you type leaves your browser.
Works without signing in. Your work is saved in this browser.
01
It tells you why you are being filtered out
The checker reads your resume the way a parser does and scores it out of 100 on contact details, structure, format, wording and keywords. Paste a job description and it names the terms you are missing. Every point it takes off comes with the specific line that caused it.
- Runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded
- Catches what actually breaks parsers, like dates written 03/04/2024
- Already have a resume? Upload the PDF or Word file and score that instead
02
The preview is the document
Pick from the template list and the preview redraws as you type. Your answers are kept separately from the design, so changing template never means retyping anything, and you can try a dozen before you settle.
- Resume and CV layouts, including single page and two page
- Colours and fonts are yours to change
- A worked example is shown until you start typing
03
Out in the format the portal asks for
PDF for most applications, Word where a recruiter wants to edit it, and LaTeX for the portals and departments that still ask for a .tex. The LaTeX export is single column with no tables or images, so it parses cleanly whatever design you picked for the PDF.
- PDF, Word (.doc) and LaTeX (.tex)
- A matching cover letter, written against the same details
- Your work saves in this browser and survives a closed tab
Before you start
- Is it actually free?
- Yes, and there is no account, no trial and no watermark. Colleges pay for the campus side of LeetFoundation. Nothing a student uses here sits behind a price.
- Where does my resume go?
- Nowhere. Everything happens in your browser, including the scoring and the file you upload to check. Your work is saved in this browser only, which also means clearing site data clears it.
- Will this pass an ATS?
- No tool can promise that, and one that does is selling something. What this does is read your resume the way a parser reads it and tell you what it finds, so the things that get a resume dropped are ones you have already seen and fixed.
- Do I need an account?
- Not for the resume builder. An account saves your progress on the rest of LeetFoundation, the problems and the subjects, but the builder works signed out.
It takes about twenty minutes.
Longer if you write the bullets properly, which is the part that matters. The tool will tell you when you have.
